一、朗读 Read aloud
上个月，学校举办了一场爱心义卖会，为老人院筹款。

Last month, our school held a charity sale to raise money for an old folks' home.
我和同学一起做了很多饼干，还准备了各种饮料。

My classmates and I baked lots of biscuits and got all kinds of drinks ready.

三、会话 Conversation
情景：在一段视频里，几个学生在商场外面为慈善团体卖贴纸，可是很多人都走开了。

If the things at the charity sale don't all sell, what will you do?

I would find ways to attract more people. For example, put the cookies into small packs and make them a bit cheaper, or go to the nearby HDB blocks to spread the word. If they still don't sell out, we could give the cookies to the elderly at an old folks' home.

老师：有人说，捐钱比参加义卖会简单得多。你同意吗？
yǒu rén shuō juān qián bǐ cān jiā yì mài huì jiǎn dān de duō nǐ tóng yì ma
Someone says donating money is much simpler than taking part in a charity sale. Do you agree?
范例：我不完全同意。捐钱虽然简单，可是参加义卖会，我们要自己动手准备，付出时间和心力，所以更有意义，也能学到很多东西。
wǒ bù wán quán tóng yì juān qián suī rán jiǎn dān kě shì cān jiā yì mài huì wǒ men yào zì jǐ dòng shǒu zhǔn bèi fù chū shí jiān hé xīn lì suǒ yǐ gèng yǒu yì yì yě néng xué dào hěn duō dōng xi
I don't fully agree. Donating money is simple, but at a charity sale we prepare things ourselves and give our time and effort, so it is more meaningful, and we learn a lot too.
