💡 打开 is "to open". You can't write (写) or drink (喝) a window open.
妈妈把衣服放进洗衣机。
mā ma bǎ yī fu fàng jìn xǐ yī jī
Mum puts the clothes into the washing machine.
💡 放进 means to put into. 喝 and 看 can't move clothes anywhere.
弟弟用毛巾把脸擦干了。
dì di yòng máo jīn bǎ liǎn cā gān le
My little brother wiped his face dry with a towel.
💡 A towel is for wiping: 擦干. Washing (洗) makes your face wet, not dry.
我先刷牙，接着洗脸。
wǒ xiān shuā yá jiē zhe xǐ liǎn
I brush my teeth first, then I wash my face.
💡 先 (first) is followed by 接着 (next) for the action that comes after.
爷爷拿起报纸，坐在椅子上看。
yé ye ná qǐ bào zhǐ zuò zài yǐ zi shàng kàn
Grandpa picks up the newspaper and sits on the chair to read it.
💡 You pick up (拿起) a newspaper. You wear (穿) clothes and drink (喝) water.
姐姐把头发编成了两条辫子。
jiě jie bǎ tóu fa biān chéng le liǎng tiáo biàn zi
My big sister plaited her hair into two plaits.
💡 Plaits are made by plaiting: 编辫子. You write (写) words and draw (画) pictures.

💡 An umbrella is put up: 撑开雨伞. Eating (吃) or washing (洗) it makes no sense.

💡 Rubbish is thrown (丢) into a bin. 捡 means picking something up, the opposite direction.

My little sister stands on tiptoe to see the show in front clearly.
💡 踮起脚尖 means standing on tiptoe. You can't stand on your fingers or eyes.

Dad bent down and picked up the puppy.
💡 To reach a puppy on the floor you bend your back: 弯下腰.

💡 收好 means to put away neatly. You wouldn't eat (吃) or toss (扔) homework into a bag.
三、改病句 Correct the sentence
病句：我先吃饭，接着洗手。

I eat first, then wash my hands.
改正：我先洗手，接着吃饭。
wǒ xiān xǐ shǒu jiē zhe chī fàn
I wash my hands first, then eat.
💡 The steps are in the wrong order: we wash our hands before eating.
病句：妈妈把苹果切了小块。
mā ma bǎ píng guǒ qiē le xiǎo kuài
Mum cut the apple small pieces.
改正：妈妈把苹果切成了小块。
mā ma bǎ píng guǒ qiē chéng le xiǎo kuài
Mum cut the apple into small pieces.
💡 切 needs 成 to say what it was cut into: 切成小块.
病句：哥哥把书放。
gē ge bǎ shū fàng
My big brother put the book.
改正：哥哥把书放回书架上。
gē ge bǎ shū fàng huí shū jià shàng

💡 A 把 sentence can't end with the bare action: it needs where or how, 放回书架上.
