💡 Teeth are brushed: 刷牙. We 洗 our face (洗脸) and hands (洗手).
天黑了，弟弟打开电灯。
tiān hēi le dì di dǎ kāi diàn dēng
It is dark, so my little brother switches on the light.
💡 When it gets dark we need light: 电灯. An umbrella or a school bag doesn't help.
我饿了，想吃东西。
wǒ è le xiǎng chī dōng xi
I am hungry and want to eat something.
💡 饿 means hungry, so you want to eat: 吃. When you are thirsty (渴), you 喝.
桌子上有一本书。
zhuō zi shàng yǒu yì běn shū
There is a book on the table.
💡 Books take 本: 一本书. 只 is for animals (一只猫).
我喜欢苹果，也喜欢香蕉。
wǒ xǐ huan píng guǒ yě xǐ huan xiāng jiāo
I like apples, and I like bananas too.
💡 也 means "also": one more thing you like. 都 needs two or more things before it (苹果和香蕉我都喜欢).
我背书包去学校。
wǒ bēi shū bāo qù xué xiào
I carry my school bag to school.
💡 A school bag is carried on your back: 背书包. You 穿 (wear) clothes and 吃 (eat) food.
早上，太阳出来了。
zǎo shang tài yáng chū lái le
In the morning, the sun comes out.
💡 The sun comes out in the morning: 出来. 进来 is coming in and 回来 is coming back.
吃饭前，我们要先洗手。
chī fàn qián wǒ men yào xiān xǐ shǒu
Before we eat, we should first wash our hands.
💡 Before eating we wash our hands: 洗手. You can't 穿 (wear) or 唱 (sing) your hands.
弟弟累了，他在床上睡觉。
dì di lèi le tā zài chuáng shàng shuì jiào
My little brother is tired, so he is sleeping in bed.
💡 累 (tired) is why he is sleeping. 饿 is hungry and 渴 is thirsty: then you would eat or drink.
我每天坐巴士去上学。

Every day I take the bus to school.
💡 Passengers 坐 (ride) a bus. Only the driver 开 (drives) it.
晚上，天上有很多星星。

💡 At night we see 星星 (stars). The sun is out in the day, and umbrellas are not in the sky.
三、改病句 Correct the sentence
病句：我有一个狗。
wǒ yǒu yí gè gǒu
I have a dog. (wrong measure word)
改正：我有一只狗。
wǒ yǒu yì zhī gǒu
I have a dog.
💡 Dogs take the measure word 只: 一只狗, not 一个狗.
病句：我吃饭在学校。
wǒ chī fàn zài xué xiào
I eat at school. (wrong word order)
改正：我在学校吃饭。
wǒ zài xué xiào chī fàn
I eat at school.
💡 Where you do something (在学校) comes before the action (吃饭).
病句：今天天气好很。
jīn tiān tiān qì hǎo hěn
The weather is very good today. (很 in the wrong place)
改正：今天天气很好。
jīn tiān tiān qì hěn hǎo
The weather is very good today.
💡 很 goes before the describing word: 很好, not 好很.
病句：我们明天去了动物园。

💡 明天 (tomorrow) hasn't happened yet, so there is no 了.

I have two apples.
💡 Before a measure word, 2 is 两: 两个苹果, not 二个苹果.

💡 A question with 什么 is already a question, so it doesn't need 吗 at the end.
